April Pierdant

April Pierdant is an award-winning multimedia bilingual reporter with a passion for storytelling that brings human-interest stories to life. She holds a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Spanish Media from the Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas. During her college years, she honed her skills in anchoring, reporting, and producing content in both English and Spanish at North Texas Television, earning two Lone Star Emmy College Awards for her work.

While working as a reporter for News21 in Arizona, April produced a documentary for the project ‘America After Roe’, which earned two Telly Awards and two Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Journalism Awards, including the prestigious 2024 Grand Prize—an honor rarely awarded to college journalists. Her work has been recognized alongside major news organizations like The New York Times, The Washington Post, FRONTLINE PBS, and The Associated Press.

Outside of her professional life, April enjoys hiking, reading, and cooking. She thrives in connecting with people and is deeply committed to using her platform to tell impactful stories.
